Do not use blood thinners, aspirin or alcohol 72 hours before treatment
If you are taking medication to treat a disease or chronic condition (heart, blood pressure, diabetes, etc.), you should consult your treating specialist beforehand. Also let your consultant at EstheNewEra know your specialist’s advice.
Smoking can adversely affect the recovery process and your hair. Try to stop smoking or smoke as little as possible in the days before the hair transplant.
Use of drugs will negatively affect the result. It is advised to stop this 2 weeks beforehand until the first month after the treatment.
ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT
Wear a light T-shirt with a wide opening or a shirt with buttons/zip that you can easily put on and take off after the treatment without touching your head.
Do not use gel or hairspray on the day of your treatment.
The advice is not to wash your hair, you can wash your hair normally up to 1 day before your treatment.
It is important that you have a good breakfast before the treatment.
AFTER YOUR HAIR TRANSPLANT;
Use your medications as directed.
Cover your pillow with a pad (you will be given this after your hair transplant) before you lie down or sleep. You may leak from your donor area.
Your bandage on your donor area may become bloody, this is normal. If you experience bleeding on the recipient area, please contact your doctor/attendant.
Try to rest as much as possible after your hair transplant.
Do not lean your head, try to keep your head in a 45 degree position backwards.
Avoid sexual contact for the first 3 days.
Use your travel pillow (will be provided after your hair transplant) to support your head while lying down or sleeping for the first 7 days.
The first 10 days are important to prevent head injuries (bumps, friction, scratches, etc.).
Bend over as little as possible and sleep on your back. You may not lie on your stomach or side.
After your hair transplant, you may experience some itching in your donor area. This is part of your healing process and is a sign of recovery. You can use your fingertips and lightly press where you are itching. Avoid scratching with your nails or sharp objects.
For the first 10 days, only use the cotton hat that you are given. After that, you may wear your own hat or cap (for 1 month) that is not tight on your head.
Your recipient area should not be exposed to direct sunlight or extreme heat for the first 4 weeks after treatment. Also avoid tanning beds.
Wear a shirt with a wide neck or zipper for the first 10 days to prevent friction on your recipient area and to prevent damage to your grafts when dressing and undressing.
Do not use blood-thinning medication for 1 week after your hair transplant (of course in consultation with your attending physician).
Do not consume alcohol for the first 10 days.
Smoking is not allowed for the first 10 days, as this can negatively affect your recovery process.
You may swim in chlorinated and sea water, hammam and sauna again after 1 month.
Intensive sports are permitted again after 3 weeks.
For the first 90 days, you may not use clippers on your recipient area. You may have your hair cut. After 10 days, you may use clippers on your donor area.
Natural hair dye is allowed after 4 months, chemical hair dyes only after 6 months.
Loss of sensation in the donor and recipient areas is normal and may last up to several months.
The advice to massage your donor area vigorously with your fingertips every day. This ensures good blood circulation and faster healing.
